Spara Capital adds bench strength

Spara Capital Partners, a low-profile southern Ontario firm
that makes its living advising mid-market and private
companies on financial options, has added a big name to its
advisory board.
Tom McNeely, the former CFO of Tim Hortons, joins a board
that includes private equity investors Jeff Parr of Clairvest
and Elmer Kim of Whitecastle.
Spara also promoted Evan Lipton to partner and added former
Deloitte and RBC adviser Jeff Szeto as an associate.
Ontario's manufacturing sector, which is dominated by small
and medium-sized family-run businesses, is hurting thanks to a
high dollar and a slowing U.S. economy, meaning there is
likely to be a lot of work for financial advisers who focus on
the mid-market.
